Astah System Safety is a modeling tool for safety critical systems that supports system architecture modeling, system safety assessment, and analysis using STAMP/STPA, SysML, SCDL, and GSN.

This applies to the automotive industry with autonomous vehicle compatible with SOTIF and ISO 26262, as well as the aerospace, railway, national defense, robotics and healthcare industries (MBSE) where safety performance is critical and they are interested in adopting model-based systems engineering.

STAMP / STPA

STAMP (System Thermal Accident Model and Processes) is an accident causal relationship model based on system theory developed by Professor Nancy Leveson at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. STPA (System Thermal Process Analysis) is a technology based on STAMP. Astah System Safety provides the following charts and tables for your STPA analysis process.

SCDL

SCDL (Security Concept Description Language) is a security architecture design language defined by the Security Concept Symbol Research Group.

Astah was originally created by Japanese company ChangeVision in 2006 as a UML modeling tool. The software has evolved to include six different tools, each designed to meet different mapping needs by absorbing over 15 years of user feedback. Astah System Safety is our latest product proudly launched for safety critical systems.

Astah combines STPA and SysML by enabling model transformation, which helps you build STPA analysis by directly using SysML blocks to create components, etc. By handling the same model in the project, consistency will be maintained and everything can be easily traced throughout the analysis process.

XMI import/export support for SysML models, which enables you to load data from Cameo Systems Modeler. You can also add OMG XMI 2.5 format configuration files.
